How to Write For Us

Submission Guidelines for Contributors

1. We welcome short articles ranging from 600 to 1,200 words, although your article can be longer depending on the topic you are focusing on. We do not have an upper word limit.

2. The use of headings is preferred to structure the paper and make it easy to follow.

3. Articles submitted to GlobalLawyersConnect typically contain two categories – either ‘Career Analysis’ (i.e. an analytical piece addressing the interview process, legal job markets job hunting tips in specific jurisdictions) or ‘Lawyers’ Journey’ (featuring the author’s journey to get to where he or she is today).

4. In drafting your article, you may want to address matters including but not limited to:

  • Your background

  • What brings you to a different country or jurisdiction

  • How different its recruitment and interview processes are compared to those of your home country? Do they welcome international applicants or value foreign talent? What are the tips you have for job seekers?

  • What are the struggles you faced? How did you overcome them?

  • How does working in a different jurisdiction or country benefit you from a career standpoint?

These are just some general guidelines so feel free to include or exclude anything if you do not feel comfortable talking about it.

5. Please provide 2-3 sentences of who you are and how to contact you at the end of your article.

6. Please check out one of our sample articles published on the Home page of this website for your reference.

7. Please send us a draft of your article together with a photo of you. Your photo and article will be published on this official website and other social media platforms of us (e.g. LinkedIn, instagram). Please also let us know your Instagram account (if you have any), so that we can tag you in our subsequent posts and stories once the article is published.
